About
& disclosure

One page, no fine print: who writes this site, how the facts are checked, what it cannot promise, and where the money comes from.

Who makes this

thingstodobangkok.com is an independent guide, one of the Uncompromised Travel city sites (the footer links the others). Every page answers one question a traveler is actually asking — worth it or skip it, which tour, which neighborhood — and commits to an answer, which means it will sometimes tell you to skip something. It is not affiliated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, any temple, venue or tour operator it covers, and no one pays to be included or to change a verdict. Start from things to do, ranked or getting around Bangkok.

How facts are checked

A page whose facts have been re-checked says so under its headline — “Facts checked” and the date — and ends with a Sources box listing what it was checked against. We prefer primary sources: the temple's or venue's own site, the operators (BTS, MRT, Airport Rail Link, Chao Phraya Express Boat) for fares, and Thai government agencies for entry rules and laws. A page without that stamp shows the date the site was last updated instead and has not been through a dated check — treat its prices as a guide and confirm on the official page it links.

Tour prices on booking cards are the platform's own “from” price as listed when we last looked, and each card says so. GetYourGuide, Klook and Tripadvisor do not let us re-check their listings automatically, so the live price is always the one on the booking page.

What we deliberately do not publish. Opening hours: they change too often for a printed copy to stay right, so venue pages link to Google Maps, which shows today's times. Star ratings, review counts and booking counts — ours or a platform's: they move weekly and are not ours to restate. None appear in the site's structured data either.

What this site cannot promise

It is not a live booking engine. Prices move, ferries re-time, temples close buildings for royal ceremonies at short notice, and Thai rules on alcohol, vapes and entry formalities have changed several times since 2025. Where a fact is moving, the page dates it and says so rather than picking the answer that reads more cleanly. The official page is always the final word on the day you go.

Tell us when we are wrong

If a price, a fare, a rule or a verdict here is out of date or mistaken, email [email protected] with the page and what changed. We check it against the source and fix the page; a confirmed correction moves that page's “Facts checked” date.

How the site makes money

Some outbound booking links are affiliate links: if you buy through one, the platform pays this site a commission and your price does not change. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code. The programs in use: Agoda (hotels), Airalo (eSIMs), BikesBooking (scooter rental), GetTransfer (airport transfers), GetYourGuide, Kiwi.com (flights), Klook, Radical Storage (luggage), SafetyWing (travel insurance), TourRadar (multi-day tours) and Tripadvisor. Some of them reach us through the Travelpayouts, Rakuten and Impact networks. A commission never changes a verdict: pages tell you when the free option or the gate ticket beats every tour.

A link to a platform's home page is labelled as one (“Open Klook”); search there for what the page recommends. Hotel links open Agoda's list for the area the page names.

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help and which outbound links get used. No ads, no sponsored posts, no selling of reader data.
